Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the way I order my bladder and bowel products changing?
Suffolk and North East Essex ICB (SNEE) has commissioned a new service for all patients using a bladder or bowel management appliance. This will change the way you order your products and prescriptions will be reviewed and issued by a prescribing nurse in place of your GP.
Prescriptions for bladder and bowel management products, excluding pads, will now be issued by the Appliance Prescription Management Services (APMS).
SNEE ICB will notify you about the new service, which will go live1 April 2025.
How do I order my products?
For your first order through this service, please call the service on 0800 026 0879 to place your order, even if you have been ordering your products for a while. This will replace your regular call or online order to your chosen home delivery company or pharmacy.
Second and subsequent orders, can be placed online.
When you have placed your appliance order, either by phone or online, the prescription will be reviewed and issued by a Prescribing Nurse.
This will then be sent to Coloplast Charter, or your chosen home delivery company, who will dispense and deliver your order in the usual way, and you should not experience any change to this part of the service.
Will the products I use be changed?
Your products will only be changed if there is a clinical reason, and you have consulted with the Specialist Nurse. The Nurse will contact you if there are any questions about your prescription.
